What is Chesscord?

Chesscord is a powerful Discord bot for Chess enthusiasts. Play live games, solve puzzles, review previous games with feedback, and more. Whether you're playing friends, random opponents, or bots, Chesscord enhances your Chess experience on Discord.

How do I start a new game?

You can use the /play command to start a new game. Just specify the opponent (either a friend or get matched against a random person) and time control.

Can I play against a bot?

Yes, just use the /bot command and choose a difficulty level for the bot.

How strong is the Chesscord Bot?

When you're playing against the bot, you can choose from 10 difficulty levels. These are all based on the Stockfish engine, with the approximate Elo ratings as follows:

  • Level 1: 250
  • Level 2: 400
  • Level 3: 600
  • Level 4: 800
  • Level 5: 1000
  • Level 6: 1250
  • Level 7: 1600
  • Level 8: 2000
  • Level 9: 2500
  • Level 10: 3200

How do I report a bug or suggest a new feature?

You can report issues or suggest features using the /report command. You can also join our Support server to discuss directly with the developers.

What kind of puzzles can I solve?

Use the /puzzle command to start a puzzle. You can select either a random puzzle or one that's matched to your rating and preferences.

How do I use the free Game Review?

Game Review is available for free at https://review.chesscord.com. You can either go there and input a PGN, or use the /review command inside Discord to load your game directly.

How do I view my Chess profiles?

To view your profile or another player's profile, use the /profile command. You should link external accounts such as Chess.com or Lichess with /link to gain an overall grasp of how you're doing!

Can I customize the board and pieces?

Yes, the /customize command allows you to set and manage the board and piece themes. There are many themes and image backgrounds available, and new ones all the time!

How do I offer a draw or resign?

To offer your opponent a draw, click the draw button underneath a game message. For a resignation, there's a resign button with a white flag. Draws are not available for games against the bot.
